This is a toy I found in Target. It’s a simple, cheap little thing, but for that I think it’s an interesting design. I happen to like star shapes, so maybe I’m biased, but I think that the color scheme choice will help it appeal to both girls and boys. A pink star would have limited the consumers to girls, but blue and green appeal to both sexes. Note the holes near the tips of the star that are good grips for smaller hands. With that in mind, the pen probably could have been a little bigger; it might be hard for a 6-year-old to hold. At least it snaps in so it’s not so easy to lose. I used to love my Magna-Doodle, but this has a much more interesting design than the one I had!
