JEAN L // PIXIE // FORM AND SPACE

This piece is a sculpture made by an artist that designs lifelike fairytale sculptures. Mainly fairies. Since she was young the artist had always had an appreciation for fairies and imaginary things of that sort. So when she began sculpting she decided it would be a neat idea to make tiny fairy sculptures. Soon after she designed a couple she thought it would be even cooler if he tried to make the sculptures look as lifelike as possible. As soon as I saw this picture of this sculpture I thought it was VERY interesting, and kind of creepy as well.

military article

Even though military magazines are usually to the point and not too creative, i really like how this image shows the connection between military life and retired civilian life by mixing the suitcase with the camouflage.

Absolut Vodka

This ad stood out to me just because I thought it looked cool and it grabbed the viewers attention. This one is probably my favorite so far.

Cali Gear

Here is another ad I love because of the bright vibrant colors. I just think that the bright colors is what makes the layouts more interesting and the ads pop out.

Paradise

I love the bright vibrant colors used to create this layout & the pictures that were used as well.

Celebrex

I like the layout to this ad because of how words are what make the pictures.

Pump it up

I like this find because of the colors used in the ad. I think the colors yellow and that bright lime greenish color go good together and make the ad stand out, especially with the orange-yellow in the background.

Bob's Brainwaves

This is my favorite find so far . . . I love the boldness of Dylan's profile - simplified but still specific and elevated by the subtleties of the delicate values within the face.
The text layout and flow is phenomenal; the way the words seem to move through the hair into the brain and blossom into a windy trail behind the figure - almost as wings - lends a very appropriate lyrical quality to this piece.

Simple layout but liking the bold hierachy as well as the textured paper look.

Power of Contrast

White text stands out over top of this chaotic graphic.

Inviting Colors. Love the hand drawn circus font.

Chris Cureton

Awesome transition here. Reader/Viewer can clearly get the message.

Vintage Hip.

I really like the lettering and graphics here . . . The line-work in the P & J is really engaging and cool.  The high contrast, stylized surfer image is iconic and directs the placement of both text and product logically and with attention to composition.

Simple. Bold. Pure.

I like the boldness and simplicity here. The image is dramatic, and paired with the power of the words, create a solid and direct statement.  This is a direct appeal to the consumer's conscience. . .
