Form and Space
This is a berinbal, a Brazilian musical instrument. This weird thing is about 6 feet long made of sugar cane bamboo, a coconut with a whole in the middle, and a thick wire going from one end of the bamboo to the other. It also makes a weird sound that is played during the capoeira “dance/fight”.
I think the shape of this object is very interesting, especially because it is musical instrument. The fact that the whole object is made of natural things that came out straight from the nature attracts me a lot and it also represents Brazil and its natural resources.
The picture on the right shows the guys doing the capoeira and playing a smaller version of the berinbal.
