Package Design Week #8 Good Packaging

Starkist in this picture really stands out and blows me away to catch the eye and create an easily recognizable brand. The color obviously is the first thing that stands out. The vibrant blue works well for the product and they also have it in a shrink wrap packaging which allows for this. The single cans on the bottom two shelfs have a large amount of white space and doesn't even look appealing. I buy quite alot of tuna with a high protein diet and i almost always buy white albacore tuna from starkist. Actually, i buy starkist brand every single time. From first glance it seems almost like their tuna will taste better because of the colors and vibrant design. Another thing i'd like to point out is how Starkist creates character with their brand and has a cartoon as a sort of mascot for their brand. Cereal makes use of that and i think it's one of the main reasons for Kellogg's success in the industry especially for kids.
