Black on white, then white on black... kinda an illusion to the eye. It doesnt say what the picture was for so everyone who looks at it will probably be left clueless :)

Obviously a pool ad, or a pool hall ad or something like that. stick with us, kinda clever... I could come up with better maybe hah, but still a decent ad that portrays what its meant to.

the coke bottle image is flat, but the guns and flowers are somewhat 3d. this ad also reminds me of guns and roses hah i guess you could see why.

The box and rice show that the person has just ordered take out, and instead of a fortune it's just the number to order more take out >.<, you can clearly see every part of the ad which is appealing

Nasty Can

Over all I find this product design over all disturbing. I like the idea of using eye catching colors. The colors that were actually used seem to upset my stomach not attract it. The most unappealing thing about this products design is the actual picture of the vegetable that is within this canned packaging. That has got to be the most nauseous picture that I have ever seen. The product is made out of a metal can and designed like all other canned products. If broken down this packaging could be easily recycled and I find that appealing. This product does its duty with protecting and preserving the actual product so that is also appealing. I just find that the can design is over done and needs to be changed. I’ve never really liked the design of a can and fold it to be annoying. In the end I do not care for the overall design. Like most products it attracts to some consumers from a distance, but one gets up close and personal to this product that appealing state of mind quickly turns to repulsion.

I like this, the ad says 'fused' and all the colors coming together into the camel look as though they are fusing together.

Package Design - week 6

Barbie ☺
I love Barbie dolls and their boxes. Their boxes are perfect for kids, they very bright and colorful, it really catches the kid’s attention. The fact that the box is open with a plastic in the front is also a good way of selling because the kid can see the actual doll what makes them want more the product. Barbie dolls boxes definatly stand out in the middle of other products. The boxes in the pictures have a little picture of a girl what also helps in the sales process because the girl that wants the doll can relate to the girl in the picture.

Layout Design

This is quite possibly the most incredible add Iv'e ever seen in my life! I got in the paper. It is actually cut out, and shaped like a plate of food in actual size. Very inventive and effective. Go Long John Silver's!!!!!

I really like this packaging. It stands out from the other products on the shelf with the simple white background. It’s a very good use of negative space. The picture looks simple, natural, healthy, and appealing. The Quaker logo isn’t lost, but it doesn’t take up too much space. They did use appetite-inducing red, but in a tasteful way that doesn’t remind me of cracker boxes or fast food. I like that they listed each of the grains that are included. Often foods claim to be “whole grain” but leave you guessing as to what the wonderful grains are. I also like the “window” that shows the food. It seems to me like they’re saying, “this isn’t just a pretty box, look, see how good this is?” This box leaves no doubt that the product is being marketed as a healthy meal.

Biscuit Tin

I tend to keep containers like this after the product is gone to store other stuff in... this one is also attractive enough to display for this use. I think more people would be inclined to reuse this kind of packaging instead of just tossing it.

Week 5 - Package Design

This is evaporated Milk from Winn Dixie brand. The environment where the can is located is actually what is helping sell the product because none of the labels around are well elaborated. In this specific label the red and blue contrast each other, but together they are not a good representation of milk in general. The picture of the cow is poorly designed; too simple. The fact that this milk contains Vitamin D and only 40 calories should be emphasized in the main label, with a bolder typeface. The cow is simply not well represented even though it is black and white clip-art like. It passes the message that this could have been the first picture that the label designer found added to the fact that the manufacturer had a limited budget to finalize the label.

Week 5 - Rapid Viz
