Man dressed as Grim Reaper arrested

Dawn

This bottle of dish soap captured my eyes right away. The beautiful blue coloring brings richness to the overall design. This was the only bottle that really stood out from the rest. No other bottle resembled such beauty and elegance. Even the shape is remarkable unique compared to the others. Its smooth shape makes the bottle easy to handle, even when a person has small sized hands. The label is not overly designed and is straight to the point.

Movie Prequel

When I went to see Transformers in the movie theaters, I was given a booklet at the ticket booth.
Inside it was a special lens that I could use to see hidden objects and messages in the booklet. There were also coupons and advertisements of upcoming Transformer toys.
Not only was the booklet cover well planned, but the inside was done professionally as well. I enjoy the detailed and life-like illustrations. This is will be a part of my Transformer collection for years to come.

Transformers!

Who doesn't love to look at the latest toys being sold in the stores? Transformers always catch my eye, and the reason is mainly because they are striking! The shapes, the colors and the futuristic packaging! The backgrounds resemble outer space and the good guy logo (Autobot) is clearly defined for those you who get confused. Red is used to attract the consumer and high contrast colors 'pop out' from the screened back background.
Excellent layout, easy to swap out the different vehicles for a new item. Transformers: still rock after all these years!

Cesar Gourmet Dog Food

This is an eye-catching ad. It has great colors that hint that dog lovers should get this item and stuff it into an Easter basket for their favorite little chow.
The layout utilizes the use of a grid.
I guess the main reason I am attracted to it is that I did a similar one for a gourmet cat food company some time ago.

Good For You 2

What can I say? Honda Motor Company really cares about its customers. This is the first post card that I received after a bought a new Honda. It shows juicy, delicious apples sprinkled with dew. I just want to take a bite! This postcard and the previous one I sent offers discounted prices for service on my new car. Being that it is a Honda, I am certain that they will expire before I ever need any maintenance, but how sweet of them!
The layout is professional, it gets the point across with little effort (or so they want you to think), and the company's logo is clear to see without being annoying.
Kudos to Honda, buy one and tell 'em I sent you, we'll both get some cash!

Layout Design

I chose this because I enjoyed viewing the very pop-art style of this ad. I did not like, however, that you can barely tell that this is an ad for sunglasses until you read the website "spyoptic.com" listed on one of the buttons at the bottom right corner. I found this in an old issue of Surfer magazine and someone just casually browsing could consider this a clothing ad, an ad for a surfing company, an ad for a surfing site, all before figuring it's a sunglasses ad despite the pair of sunglasses in the top right corner. The sunglasses look like just another additive to the composition, another layer that isn't the main subject. I would have rethought this ad before finalizing it.

Package Design - week 11

This is e very appealing bottle for women, very romantic looking perfume. I like the heart shape; it is almost like a jewelry heart shaped because of the cuts on the edges. The violet was also a great choice because it is a calming color and also romantic. The lid of the bottle is a crow what makes the person that buys it very special to have a crown since is a symbol of power. The typography looks like a handwriting that says princess, what is very appropriate since the lid is a crow. The combination of all make appealing to a girl. I would buy it.

Package Design - week 10

I could not identify for sure what this product really is; the package was what caught my attention the most. I think it is package that comes with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, or maybe some other weird sauce for kids to put in their food. The bottle of the sauces contains a lot of fun colors that catches the attention of kids and they look like they are easy to hold due to their round format. If a kid has dirty slippery hands, the bottle won’t fall easily. The outside package allows the viewer to see the product itself without having to open. The outside yellow also matches the colors of the inside bottles. The whole design and colors are very appealing for kids and also the drawings look like kids’ hand drawings.

Package Design - week 9

Mac makeup
I think it is amazing the similarities on not only the name but also the package style between mac computer’s package and mac makeup’s packages. Mack also abuse of the color black for their boxes, actually all their products come in a black box. Mac makeup also uses a very simple san serif font.

Package Design - week 9

iPhone box
I admire all the apple store products and packages. Most of their packages are always white, black, or silver. Their boxes are very simple also. They usually don’t have pictures, just the name of the product with a san serif font right in the middle. This box is very thick to protect what it is inside, so one can drop and the phone would be intact. For a store with such high technology, this box is great: simple, dark, geometric style, and no ornamentations. They believe that their product sells itself. Those boxes even being so simple they do stand out in the middle of other product. The simplicity among mess does catch shopper’s attention.

Package Design - week 8

Radio
I am not sure if this is a kind of ipod or if it is a radio for a car, at this point, it does not matter, the package sold it. If I had the money I would buy it right now. The box looks like a box from the future what makes you think the product has a high technology. The package is very simple and it attracts both guys and girls. The girls might relate to the color and the size of the product and the guys might relate to the sport picture. The box also gives you the impression that the radio is floating or flying, what shows that the radio is very light.

Good For You

Besides designing and producing fine automobiles, Honda has a slick ad campaign. Here is one of my favorites: It features an all-over image of a close-up of a bowl of chicken soup. It looks good, and we all know that it is a healthy choice at mealtime, so it makes sense that if the soup is good for you, so is Honda. After all, they do use customer feedback to create a comfortable and safe driving environment.

Disney Ad

I chose this ad for its content. I liked the photo of the child shaking the hand of Mickey Mouse because this is what children are told to want to do while they are still young. In all actuality, most kids think Mickey is a walking six foot rat.

The layout is fair (although I know this scan is of poor quality); the image is the focal point, the text is small so that only the grown-ups can read it.

RAPID VIZ// JEAN L

star treatment...

Poco Dolce gourmet chocolates

Just a simple box, but the clean design and strong colors give it an outstanding shelf presence. The package looks rich and expensive even though it's probably relatively cheap to make.

Tsp Spices

This is a simple but elegant and gorgeous package. I can't tell if the inside box is wood or cardboard, but I love the combination of tin and dark colors. Gotta love reusable tins.

Fastachi nuts

This reminds me of Danielle's salsa box. I love the natural materials. I would probably keep this package when the product was gone. You can tell by looking at the package that this is a quality product.
