pretend, discover, make believe, create

So I think this design is awesome, what can I say? the power of type, color, shape and repetition!

Great way to use the clothing advertised as the actual color scheme itself. I like the split image theme. Very clean layout. Quickly catches the eye.

This is a toy I found in Target. It’s a simple, cheap little thing, but for that I think it’s an interesting design. I happen to like star shapes, so maybe I’m biased, but I think that the color scheme choice will help it appeal to both girls and boys. A pink star would have limited the consumers to girls, but blue and green appeal to both sexes. Note the holes near the tips of the star that are good grips for smaller hands. With that in mind, the pen probably could have been a little bigger; it might be hard for a 6-year-old to hold. At least it snaps in so it’s not so easy to lose. I used to love my Magna-Doodle, but this has a much more interesting design than the one I had!

Fire

Fire definately takes on an interesting form no matter how you look at it. I took this picture with a blue lens on my camera so I think the space that it is in is different and nice to look at.

Crazy bike

Anything can be art right?? This crazy looking bike it definately an attention getter and because it is so odd I think that it's form makes it something different to look at.

Skull

I thought that the form that this candle takes up is just really interesting and it semms to fit the time of year. All of the pictures I took of it turned out really nice and dramtic.

Form and Space

Those are the carro alegoricos, big or even gigantic cars over decorated for carnaval season in Brazil. Every February, many “houes” compete against themselves to see who has the best car. Most of the people that are members of those “houses” work for free just for the love of carnaval and art of making those cars.
Believe it or not, those gigantic decorations, sometimes people, animals, and gods, are all made of fome just like our project 1. Those cars are so full of decorations that it needs a light material. They all have a theme and they make use of many shapes, movement, colors, and different materials. This is a great example of 3D designers, they are very talented.

Form and Spave Week 5 cont.

Oops! I accidentally loaded two of the same images, so here is the other image. You can better see the shift of the ring with this image.

Form and Space Week 5

These images are of a ring from a jewelry designer I love. Her work is so unique, but incredibly expensive; her work can be found at Nicholson House in International Mall. I chose to include two images, because I think based on the images, that the layers rotate on the ring. There is a gold piece that looks like it might be holding the layers together.

Form and Space Week 4

I chose this image because I am having a difficult time understanding how the medium used is working with gravity. I think this piece is fascinating, and I'm interested to learn how the artist got the sand to stick together so well and what tools he/she used to get this effect. I love how the sand is carved out inside.

Form & Space_Week 4

For this week I found this glass candleholder which three dimensional model is very interesting and well designed. Its shape completes its whole context of volume and form regarding its material. In fact, the shiny and clear appearance of the glass gives this particular object a unique and very finely crafted visualization of itself. One good thing about it is that it has a perfect symmetry which gives it a well elaborated design. Nevertheless, the symmetry is not so important in every sculpture or three dimensional designed objects since they still have volume and form, and a very neat composition as one can turn it in different angles, it may appear to be the same in some angles.

JEAN L LAYOUT DESIGN

This is a great layout. It's good mix of vibrant photography and illustration. It's cool how the two switch throughout the ad. I also like how Ghostface Killa's feet aren't touching the ground but you can still see shadows of the floating figures underneath. Also, the positioning of the cubes with the other elements give the image a bit of a 3rd dimension.

JEAN L LAYOUT DESIGN

I THINK THIS AD LAYOUT IS GREAT. THE COLORS FLOW TOGETHER. HE LOOKS LIKE THE TYPE OF GUY THAT LIKES TO PLAY IT SAFE BUT WANTS TO GET A LITTLE WASTED AFTER FINALS.

- The background color and wood style print is good too. It looks like wallpaper.

THIS AD MAKES GOLDSCHLAGER LOOK LIKE A SAFE CHOICE.
